Breakfast and After School Club
William Harding School provides its own wraparound childcare provision. Our breakfast and after-school club aims to ensure children have a fun and welcoming start and end to their school day. Both clubs are priced reasonably to ensure as many parents as possible are able to utilise this provision.
The club takes place in the KS2 Hall in the Main Building, and is open during term time from 7:30am until school starts, and from the end of the school day until 6:00pm. During these clubs, children will be offered a light meal. Any dietary needs will be catered for.
Breakfast Club
The breakfast club is open to children from 7:30am. The children can play with a wide range of toys and games, and have the chance to get involved with different activities on offer. The children are also allowed to go outside and play, providing there is dry weather.
For breakfast, the children are offered toast or crumpets with a selection of spreads, as well as breakfast cereals and fruit, with milk or water to drink.
At the end of the club, the children are taken to their classes by a member of staff to start their day on time.
After School Club
The afterschool club opens from the end of the children's school day and finishes at 6:00pm, with the exception of Fridays, when the club finishes at 4:30pm. Children are escorted from their classes to the club where they can begin their fun for the evening. Children can take part in the various planned activities happening all week, and there are toys and games on offer for children to choose from too. They are also given a chance to play outside, providing there is dry weather. For children that would prefer quieter play or to read a book, an area is provided for them to do so.
The children will be provided with a light meal intended to keep them going until they arrive home. This meal changes every day and may include things such as wraps, sandwiches and pasta dishes. We may run themed menus to reflect activities happening in the club or in the school. Please note that on a Friday, due to the early finish time, children will not be given a light meal and we ask that your child brings an extra snack if you feel they may be hungry at the end of the day.
Booking
Wraparound Club offers 5 bookable sessions:
Breakfast Club:

8:00 arrival time
Afterschool club:
End of school day to 16:30
16:30 to 18:00 (following afterschool led enrichment clubs)

Parents are able to book 1 breakfast club session and 1 afterschool club session for each day. It must be booked in advance using our usual booking system, SchoolCloud.
Please note that the system will confirm at the point of booking whether your child has a space in the club. If you are unable to book the space you want, it means the club is full for that date or session.
Once your child is booked onto a session, we require the Wraparound Care Handbook to be read, and the Contract of Agreement form contained in the Handbook to be completed and returned before your child attends the club for the first time.

Right to Request
Parents have the right to request wraparound and holiday childcare.
If parents wish to make requests for additional wraparound and holiday childcare to those already provided, requests should be made in writing - either by email or letter.
Parents need to include:
the types of childcare requested
the age range for the wraparound / holiday childcare
when the provision is most needed
All requests will be considered by the Senior Leadership Team and the Governing Body. The school aims to respond to requests within one calendar month. If the request is complicated and requires further research, this may take longer. If the response will take more than a month to be sent, an email will be sent to update the respondent with new timescales.
