As a school we encourage our children to be good citizens and take part in volunteering in their local community.
We believe this not only enriches the children and the community they serve, but also provides the children access to the cultural capital they might not otherwise get.
It is also reinforces our school values of ‘Responsibility’, ‘Respect’ and ‘Collaboration’ as well as our school motto of ‘Aim High, Work Hard, Be Kind’.
Elements of this are also taught through areas of our curriculum, such as PSHE and our use of LORIC.
Please see below examples of where our children have gone above and beyond by volunteering in their communities:
Sienna (Preschool): Sienna volunteers at a local Dementia Home. She takes treats to the residents as well as chatting to them and playing games with them. This is a very thoughtful and kind thing to do and we are all very proud of her! Well done Sienna!
